Sponsored by CIPFA’s Local Government Policy Panel this timely conference will provide a policy and financial overview of the latest LAA-MAA developments, together with practical experiences from senior officers in the field. As Local Area Agreements are rolled out nationally, this conference will provide timely and essential information for all those involved with maximising their potential for local citizens. With 13 pilot areas expected to have Multi-area Agreements in place by next summer, proposed growth will extend far beyond council borders. There are issues of financial accountability to be addressed and this is likely to mean more obligations being placed upon local authorities.

It will cover:

• LAAs - Effective Local Government Service Delivery or Performance Framework Assessment from Central Government?
• Lessons learned from Local Area Agreements – making strategic financial decisions
• LAAs and Financial Responsibility: Audit and accountability of partnership arrangements
